The text puts a new spin on the popular nursery rhyme "The Wheels on the Bus," this time centering the familiar routines of mothers and children on a city bus. "The mommies on the bus go hold my hand, hold my hand, hold my hand." O'Callaghan's drawings show many characters of varying skin tones and cultures, including a motherly woman in a hijab. This diversity of passengers reflects a realistic cross-section of travelers on any bus in metropolitan America today. VERDICT For a bouncy twist on an old classic, this bus book is just the ticket.-Nora Clancy
