Lion Lionel is going to a party, so his giraffe barber attempts some envelope-pushing styles: "Dandelion hair," a spaceship look (it's "out of this world"), etc. This fairly bland book has a gimmick: on page after page, oval cutouts reveal Lionel's single stock expression of perplexity, and at book's end, readers can insert their own faces into the action.
