The fifth installment of The Sisters Grimm series finds young detectives Sabrina and Daphne in search of three magical objects that have been stolen from their Everafter owners. While in pursuit, they are transported to the future, where they meet older versions of themselves and missing Prince Charming. Together, the characters devise a plan to redo their work to investigate an evil organization, the Scarlet Hand. While investigating a series of thefts, detectives-in-training Sabrina and Daphne Grimm run into dragons, their great-great-great-great-great-grandfather Wilhelm, and their future selves. These strange encounters, the girls discover, are the result of time holes that will soon devour Ferryport Landing. Buckley's less-than-fresh sci-fi twist detracts from his more compelling fractured fairy-tale approach.
