Fed up with comments about being the only one of her sisters not married or about to be, love-wary Marley Roman decides to forestall the inevitable family meddling by arriving in Pennsylvania for her youngest sister's wedding with a newly invented fiance and sporting a pawn shop sparkler to prove it. Then Brant Westfield, her sexy next-door neighbor and the inspiration for her fake inamorato, shows up, along with her old college boyfriend, and the fun and complications begin. A resentful, responsible heroine short on trust and a patient, persistent hero determined to change her mind finally turn their phony engagement into the real thing in a warm, wedding-infused romance brimming with a colorful assortment of family and friends and tempered by at least one long-simmering issue. VERDICT Sweet, family-centered, and laced with realistic family dynamics and enough emotional friction to keep the tension taut, this funny, feel-good romance is as satisfying as a hug; a perfect summer diversion.
