Grades 10-12 Akihiro is more than competent at his job of being the right-hand man to Shojiro Sawatari, the head of the Sawatari mob, which means providing for his every need and protecting him. Aki also finds himself helplessly infatuated with his boss, which he can hide most days, but he is often in sticky situations with the boss where he gets mixed signals or is almost found out. If that's the price to pay to be close and keep him safe, Aki is fine paying it--until his rival comes back to town and throws a wrench in the well-oiled machine! This unrequited love story has some adorable and frustrating moments, but there are a few violent scenes, as it's still about mobsters. Origami draws some cute moments and uses comical facial expressions to keep this storyline light and entertaining. For readers who like the BL and yakuza angle from Kei X Yaku: Bound by Law series, this might be a good next read.
